M Festival – St Albans Music Festival
Saturday 6th July 2019
For the 10th year running, M Festival returns on Saturday 6th July 2019. A day of live, local entertainment across 2 outdoor stages, perfect for all the family.
Around 3000 people are set to return to this year’s festival. Hosted at The Marlborough Science Academy, the M Festival has raised over £86,000 for the school since it started in 2010. The Festival has built up a reputation of showcasing some of the great local talents and this is no exception as they celebrate 10 years!
People that attend will enjoy live music from local bands including The Monster Hits, Indi and the Vegas, Electric Umbrella, Charlotte and the Glovers, ABBA Arrival Tribute and ARC to name a few but the best of the musical talent from students at Marlborough and other local primary schools.
There will be lots of different activities for all the family to enjoy, including different funfair rides, the all-time favourite wipe-out sweeper, zorbing, crazy golf, football darts, facing painting, bouncy castles, henna tattoos, hair braiding, balloon modelling, mini-pamper treatments and a kids zone. Art, craft and circus skills workshops will also be running throughout the day!
Food and Drink will also be available throughout the day including a BBQ which uses fresh meat sourced locally. If BBQ’s aren’t your thing, then there will be homemade vegetarian & ethnic foods, fish & chips. gourmet toasties, smoothies/shakes, ice creams, sweet & savoury pancakes, beer, cider and PIMMS tents and a cake/tuck shop!
The Festival is open to everyone within the Hertfordshire community and gates open at 1:30 pm followed by live music from 1:45 pm. The festival finishes at 11:30 pm with a fireworks and laser show finale!

The Hospice of St Francis Skydive 2019

Afraid of heights?
If the answer is no, then keep reading. On Sunday 7th July 2019, the Hospice of St Francis are celebrating their 40th birthday by hosting a Charity Skydive. Do you have a milestone to celebrate too? Mark the occasion with the Hospice of St Francis.
To participate in the Charity Skydive, a non-refundable deposit of £50 is payable upon registration. There is also a minimum sponsorship amount of £350 to raise (£150 of this covers the cost of your jump, the remainder of your sponsorship will come directly to the Hospice to help us provide care and support when it matters most).

On Sunday 14th July the St Albans Comic-Con begins!
Special Guests from Film & TV will be there as well as, a new group of amazing artists from your favourite comics in the “Artists Alley”. Other attractions include memorabilia & specialist traders, movie props & vehicles, a Gaming Zone featuring VR & retro gameplay and their always popular Cosplay Zone & competition for best costumes. All this along with a few other surprises, but you’ll have to wait and see for them.
The event is family friendly with no age restrictions & entry will begin at 10am at The Alban Arena.
